Opened in 1983 by Theatre District restaurateur Joe Allen, Orso serves regional Italian cuisine in a cozy, intimate setting. Out-of-towners, locals and Broadway regulars can all be spotted enjoying Orso's outstanding preparations of classics like rigatoni Bolognese and sautéed calf's liver with grilled onions and sage. In addition to these standbys, Orso also offers smaller plates, antipasti, thin crust pizzas and half orders of pasta, which are perfectly suited for pre- theater lunch and late evening dining.
