Times Square Renewal of Vows
On February 14, 2013, couples joined us in a declaration of love as we celebrated romance, passion, and our sweethearts in a one of a kind tour-de-love with a vow renewal ceremony presented by Aruba, One happy island. The ceremony took place on the iconic glass Red Steps and was broadcast live on the American Eagle Times Square Digital Billboard in the heart of Times Square. It was also streamed live to the world.
We invited couples from all generations and of all types to profess their love. A special invitation was extended to couples whose kisses bridge boundaries, be they religious, political, racial, national or otherwise, as well as couples in wedding attire.

Brooklyn-based design firm Situ Studio is the winner of this year’s annual Times Square Valentine Heart Design. Over the last five years, the Times Square Alliance has invited architecture and design firms to submit proposals for a romantic public art installation celebrating Valentine’s Day in Times Square. This year’s winning design, Situ Studio’s Heartwalk, will be unveiled on Tuesday, February 12 and remain on view until Sunday, March 10. Situ Studio took inspiration from the collective experience of Hurricane Sandy and the love that binds people together during trying times. More about Heartwalk >> |

I Promise To Love You
Each night in February, Times Square becomes a digital art gallery through dazzling visuals on select billboards and newsstands with Midnight Moment, organized and supported by the Times Square Advertising Coalition in partnership with Times Square Arts. For February’s program, Tracey Emin, one of Britain’s most celebrated contemporary artists, created I Promise To Love You, comprised of six written love messages made of neon. Every show begins at 11:57pm with a "countdown" that signals the start of the 3 minute nightly presentation. s[edition], the leading platform used by the worlds most recognized artists to distribute art digitally, worked directly with Emin to bring this project to life.
